Bid Boss Dollars Terms
Version 1.1 · registry edition 1 · in effect from 2026-09-21
Bid Boss Dollars terms
These terms govern the Bid Boss Dollars wallet. You accept them at your first top-up, and the version you accepted governs until you accept a new one.
1. What Bid Boss Dollars are
1.1 Bid Boss Dollars (BBD) are closed-loop store credit issued by Bid Boss Inc. One BBD equals one Canadian dollar. BBD are redeemable only against Bid Boss invoices, through the portal. They are not money, cannot be cashed out, transferred to another person, or redeemed anywhere else.
1.2 Your Wallet holds two kinds of value in separate buckets: purchased funds, which you paid for, and promotional credits, which we granted.
1.3 Purchased funds never expire. No dormancy, inactivity or administration fee ever reduces purchased funds.
1.4 Promotional credits are credit we may grant at no charge; they are not funds you purchased. None are granted today. If we ever grant them, they are tracked separately from purchased funds, their offer states their terms, they expire 12 months after grant unless the offer says otherwise, and they are applied before purchased funds where possible.
2. Funding your wallet
2.1 You fund purchased funds by Interac e-transfer using the unique reference code shown in your account, or by card where card funding is available. Include your reference code on every e-transfer so that it is credited to your Wallet.
2.2 Adding funds is not a purchase of goods and is not taxed. Tax is charged when you pay an invoice.
2.3 Newly funded value may be subject to a short cooling period before it can be spent, as a fraud control. Where identity verification is required before a funding method or a spend, the action completes once verification does.
2.4 If a card top-up is later reversed or charged back, we may reverse the corresponding BBD, and if the BBD was already spent, the reversed amount is a debt you owe.
3. Spending, auto-pay, refunds
3.1 BBD apply to Bid Boss invoices at full face value. By bidding, you authorize us to apply your available balance to any invoice you incur, automatically when the invoice is created and again when a top-up brings your balance to a sufficient amount, as set out in the buyer terms.
3.2 Refunds we issue go to your Wallet as purchased funds, except where a refund to the original payment method is required by law.
3.3 Your balance is always the sum of your ledger entries. The ledger is append-only: corrections are new entries, your history is visible in your account, and where a ledger error occurs we correct it by an adjusting entry and tell you.
4. Account closure and dormancy
4.1 If your account closes, purchased funds remain yours: we will apply them to amounts you owe, and pay out any remainder to you, which is the one case where value leaves the wallet, or preserve them for you, at your choice where the law allows. Promotional credits lapse on closure.
4.2 We hold wallet float in a separate bank account. Interest earned on the float belongs to Bid Boss.
5. General
5.1 We may suspend wallet features for suspected fraud or as the law requires, notifying you where we reasonably can. Claims lie against Bid Boss Inc. only, and no individual has personal liability under these terms. Ontario law governs, and nothing here removes a Consumer's non-waivable rights, including under Ontario's gift card rules, which these terms are designed to meet.
5.2 We may change these terms; material changes take effect for you when you accept them, which we ask at your next top-up or payment, and every version and acceptance is recorded.
