What do buyers ask about liquidation auctions?

Process

What to send, how it arrives, and what happens to it here.

What can I send?
Retail returns, overstock, open-box, shelf-pulls, and excess inventory across most consumer categories: electronics, tools, home and kitchen, furniture, apparel, toys, sporting goods, and more. Regulated goods (lithium batteries, cosmetics, sealed health and beauty, food) are accepted with the right handling, just flag them on your application. What to send
Do I need a manifest?
No. A manifest helps us process faster, but it is not required. If you have one, share it. If you do not, we inspect and grade every item at intake either way.
Consignment or buyout, which should I choose?
Consignment (we auction your goods and pay you the proceeds, minus commission) lets each item find its own price over a few weeks. Buyout (we buy your load outright) gets you money now and the goods leave your dock immediately. If you are not sure, ask us first. We will tell you which fits your situation. The two-minute comparison
I sell from outside Canada - can I send my Canadian returns and FBA removals to you?
Yes. Sign the agreement once, then set our Etobicoke warehouse as your return or removal destination. Goods already in Canada - including Amazon.ca removal orders - ship to us with no customs step at all. Goods outside Canada ship DDP only, with you remaining the importer of record. Every unit enters the same inspect-grade-auction engine as any consignment. Canadian return address
What happens to goods that do not sell?
Lots that receive no bids may be offered again in a later auction. After that you decide: take them back (small handling fee), authorize us to liquidate them (you receive the proceeds, less your agreed commission), or scrap them (a small disposal fee). We write to you for that decision, nothing is disposed without your authorization, and title never transfers automatically.
How do I start?

Talk to the seller desk. Tell us what you are moving, roughly how much of it and how often, and we will tell you whether we are the right home for it. If we are, we send you a consignment agreement with your commission written into it, you sign it, and you book your first delivery. The seller portal, where your statements and results will live, opens at launch. Nothing up to signature commits you to anything. Apply

A question we did not answer? Ask it before you ship. That is what sell@bidbossinc.ca is for.

Payment

What we charge, and when the money reaches you.

What is your commission?
Commission is set per consignor based on your goods and volume, and it is confirmed with you in writing before anything is signed. You never set it yourself, and you will see your exact rate in your agreement. Nothing on the application sets a price or a rate.
How and when do I get paid?
You are paid monthly on collected funds. Payment is issued on the 15th of the month following, or next business day. Your settlement shows your items, your hammer prices, your commission, and your net. Banking details are collected only after you have signed, never by email. Getting paid
How do you pay sellers outside Canada?
Settlements are paid in CAD on collected funds, on the 15th of the month following, or next business day, by wire or bank transfer. Your statement itemizes every lot. Payouts to sellers outside Canada are paid in full; no Canadian tax is withheld from them. Report the income where you are resident for tax.

Shipping

Who moves the freight and who pays for it.

Who handles the logistics?
We do: receiving, inspection, grading, cataloguing, selling, buyer collection, and settlement. You get the goods to us (or we can coordinate pickup), we handle everything after that. What we handle

Best practices

Protecting your brand, your data and your read on performance.

How do you protect my brand and my name?
We never disclose your identity as the source. Goods are sold under Bid Boss, not your name. We can also flow down resale restrictions you require (no export, channel limits) and enforce them. Your reputation stays yours. Brand protection
Can I see how my goods performed?
Yes. Your seller portal shows your items, their status, hammer prices, your commission and net, settlements, and payouts, all your own numbers, in real time. The dashboard
Is my data confidential too?
Yes. We collect only what we need, protect it, and never sell it or disclose you as a source. Identity checks keep only the result, never your documents. Your data is handled per our privacy policy.

Troubleshooting

When something is wrong with the goods themselves.

How do you handle recalls and unsafe items?
Every item is screened at intake. Recalled items are stopped immediately, and restricted or prohibited goods are pulled before they ever list. Flag hazmat (lithium batteries, aerosols, and similar) on your application so we handle it correctly. Prohibited items

Didn’t find what you need?

Ask us directly. Opening a request gives you a reference you can quote, and a person replies to it.

Two ways in

Start when you are ready, or ask us first

Neither one commits you to anything. Most consignors do one, then the other.

Ready to go

Apply to consign

The consignment application. It asks what we need to receive, grade, and pay you correctly, and it is the same form whether you are sending one pallet or clearing a warehouse.
