About Bid Boss

Honest liquidation, at scale.

One warehouse in Etobicoke, a published grading standard, and software we built ourselves because spreadsheets could not keep the promises we wanted to make.

Four tractor units backed into numbered loading bays at dusk, with the Bid Boss sign on the building beside them.

Liquidation earned its reputation. Mystery pallets, blind bids, photos of the one good box. Bid Boss exists because that reputation is a choice, and we chose differently.

The idea

Billions of dollars of returned, overstocked and open-box goods move through Canada every year, and most of it is sold on fear: unmanifested, ungraded, priced for the risk the buyer can't see. Sellers recover pennies. Buyers gamble. Perfectly good product gets destroyed because destroying it is easier than describing it honestly.

Bid Boss is the opposite bet: that honesty is the most profitable thing in this industry. Inspect every item by hand. Grade it against a standard anyone can read. Photograph what's actually there, condition card included. Publish the fee formula so any bid works out to the true total before you commit. Then let more than 10,000 registered bidders set the price in the open, every Wednesday at 7:00 PM, no reserve on anything.

When the description is trustworthy, buyers stop pricing in fear, and the fear discount was the whole problem. Sellers are paid on what an open floor decided, not on a discount for risk nobody measured. Buyers win things that are exactly what they said they were. Goods that would have been landfill become somebody's inventory, somebody's renovation, somebody's Tuesday-night win. Everyone in the chain gets paid for the same thing: the truth.

The machine behind it

The auction is the visible tenth. Behind it is a warehouse in Etobicoke running a weekly discipline: receiving dock to grading bench to catalogue to auction close to a pickup desk where the invoice is settled before arrival and the order is already pulled and staged, and seller statements settled monthly on collected funds, the money actually received. That cadence never breaks. One pallet or a warehouse clearance, consumer or enterprise, cross-border or down the street: same inspection, same grades, same published rules.

Where this goes

The weekly auction is the foundation. Around it: a Canadian return address that turns cross-border sellers' write-offs into recovery, and software we run ourselves that carries every item from the dock to the statement, so a consignor sees what each of their lots did and a buyer sees what was found inside theirs. The ambition is one sentence: when something in Canada needs a second life, it comes through here.

How we work

Graded, not guessed

Every claim about an item traces to a hands-on inspection against a standard anyone can read.

The formula is public

Buyer fees and payout dates are published. Every consignor gets the same process and the same standard. Surprises are a defect.

Collected funds are the only funds

Sellers are settled on money actually received, and we say so out loud, because trust built on float isn't trust.

Nothing good gets wasted

An honest description is what stands between a working product and a dumpster. Writing one is the job.

One standard, any size

The rules don't scale with the customer. That's the point of rules.

See it yourself

The proof isn't this page. It's Wednesday's catalogue, the condition card on every lot, and a warehouse at 12 Vulcan Street, Unit 4, Etobicoke where pickup days are open days. Bid on something. Send us a pallet. Watch what honest liquidation does to a price.

People are very nice and organized! One of the few auctions that makes a great effort in writing a brief description… I'm enjoying bidding here!

Quick and easy. The bidding was simple enough. Once done I was able to pick a time slot that worked for me and the pickup itself was seamless (other than that it was raining, but that wasn't their fault). I would for sure use this website/service again.

Wonderful, wonderful experience. I brought a dolly with me but Allah insisted to carry the heavy box to my car and even repositioned my awkward dolly in the front seat cuz of space issues. He is fantastic, thank you!

Great auction house in Rexdale. Organized bidding and pickup process. The item selection is huge, descriptions accurate, prices even with buyers premium still come out way better than retail. At pickup I have always received the correct items, as described. I appreciate they have a weekend pickup day as well. Shout out to Lisa and Sarah for being such friendly helpful associates during pickup time. :)

I have bought from Big Boss a few times and everything was as expected or better. On March 26th, 2026 I went in realizing I made a mistake on my bid. I dealt with a lady, Lisa. She understood my mistake and corrected it immediately and I got exactly what I wanted. Lisa your the best!!! JT
