What do buyers ask about liquidation auctions?

19
Can someone else pick up for me?

Yes, with notice. Pickup is by appointment only, booked after the auction, at Unit 4, 12 Vulcan Street, Etobicoke, ON M9W 1L2 (Thursday and Friday 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Saturday 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM). Government-issued photo ID and a signature are required before release. A person collecting for you must be authorized by you in writing in advance.

Write to support@bidbossinc.ca before the appointment, naming the person who will collect. They bring photo ID in that name, and the desk releases the order to them against it. Business buyers can set a standing driver, which stays in place until you revoke it.

What does not work is sending someone we have not been told about. The person at the desk has to match a name you gave us first.

I missed my pickup window, what happens?

All items must be picked up, or shipping requested, by Saturday at 3:00 PM following the auction. If an item is not collected and no shipping has been requested by then, we will notify you by email and text message, and you will have seven (7) more days to collect it or request shipping. A storage fee of $5.00 per lot per day applies from the Saturday deadline, and you authorize us to charge it to your card on file. An item still not collected or requested seven (7) days after that notice is deemed abandoned, and you authorize us to resell it on your behalf. Your original purchase is not cancelled or refunded. From the resale proceeds we deduct the storage fees, an abandonment fee equal to the greater of $25.00 or twenty-five percent (25%) of your original lot price, and the costs of resale; any remaining balance is held for you and paid on written request. Two abandoned purchases result in permanent suspension of bidding privileges.

If you need an arrangement, write to support@bidbossinc.ca before the deadline.

The part worth reading twice: arrangements happen before the deadline, not after. While the window is open you can switch the order to shipping, or authorize someone else to collect it. Both take one email.

No pickup slots work for me?
If no pickup slot is available before the deadline, write to support@bidbossinc.ca and switch to shipping at no charge or ask us to arrange something; you are never penalized because slots ran out.
How much will shipping cost?
After the auction, request shipping and you will receive a quote. Nothing dispatches until you approve it, and shipping is paid before release.
Can you combine my wins into one shipment?
We combine multiple lots into fewer parcels where practical, but consolidation is not guaranteed, some items ship separately based on size, weight, or fragility.
Can I switch pickup to shipping?
Write to support@bidbossinc.ca. Switching to shipping is free before the pickup deadline; switching from shipping back to pickup is available until your order ships and carries a fee of the greater of $20 or 15% of the shipping charge, because packing starts once you choose shipping. It is never charged for our error.
Where do I send the e-transfer?

We will only ever ask you to send an Interac e-transfer to pay@bidbossinc.ca, using the reference code shown in your account.

Put that reference code in the transfer. It is what matches your payment to your order automatically, with no screenshots and no "did you get it" emails. A transfer sent without the code takes longer to land.

HiBid says I "may have won": did I?
"You may have won" is HiBid's holding status while the results are being finalised. Your confirmed win is the invoice we send you, so there is a short window between HiBid's notice and your confirmed order.
I bid by accident, can you cancel it?

Every bid is binding. A bid is an offer to buy at that price, and the auction closes on the strength of it, so we cannot unwind one because it was a mistake.

Where an order is cancelled or goes unpaid, the restocking fee in the auction terms attached to each listing applies. If you have bid by accident, tell us immediately rather than going quiet. It does not undo the bid, but it is the difference between a problem we can work with and a storage bill.

Do you ship to the United States?

We ship across Canada and to the continental United States. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, or PO boxes.

Lots shipped to US addresses are exported; no GST/HST is charged. US duties or taxes may apply on import.

When and how do refunds arrive?
Approved refunds are issued under the returns and claims policy. They cover the item's hammer, premium, and tax as applicable; the handling fee is non-refundable.
Can I bid now and pick up next week?

All items must be picked up, or shipping requested, by Saturday at 3:00 PM following the auction. If an item is not collected and no shipping has been requested by then, we will notify you by email and text message, and you will have seven (7) more days to collect it or request shipping. If you need more time, contact us before the deadline.

Where and when do I pick up?
Pickup is by appointment only, booked after the auction, at Unit 4, 12 Vulcan Street, Etobicoke, ON M9W 1L2 (Thursday and Friday 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Saturday 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM). Government-issued photo ID and a signature are required before release. A person collecting for you must be authorized by you in writing in advance.
What am I actually paying? Are there hidden fees?
No hidden fees. Every price you see is the all-in price, it already includes the buyer's premium, handling, and applicable tax, shown before you bid. What you see is what you pay.
How does the grading work?
Every item is physically inspected and its grade is set from a real condition checklist, powered on where applicable, contents checked, packaging and any missing parts noted. Every lot is photographed as the real unit, shown alongside reference images of the listing. New / Overstock, Grade A and Grade B items carry a claim window for major functional defects of twenty-four (24) hours from pickup or confirmed delivery, seven (7) days for accounts verified as resellers, and fourteen (14) days only under a signed reseller addendum. Grade C and Grade D items are final sale as to condition. Regardless of grade, an item that is the wrong item or materially misdescribed is always reviewable.
Do I have to register to bid?

Register on HiBid with a card. Bid on the lots you want. If you win, pay within 48 hours, book your pickup appointment, bring photo ID, and collect by Saturday at 3:00 PM, or request shipping.

There is one registration to complete, and it is on HiBid. Your own Bid Boss account opens when the buyer portal launches, and it will use the same email.

How do I pay for what I win?

Payment is due in full within forty-eight (48) hours of auction close. For eligible customers, the card on file may be automatically charged after close unless another payment method was requested at registration. Accepted methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, debit, Interac e-Transfer, and cash at pickup.

We will only ever ask you to send an Interac e-transfer to pay@bidbossinc.ca, using the reference code shown in your account.

When does the auction run?
Our auctions close every Wednesday evening. Pickup follows across the three days after the close.
Is my personal information safe?
Yes. We collect only what we need, protect it, and never sell it. Identity checks keep only the result, never your documents. Your data is handled per our privacy policy.
