GUIDE: PICKUP, DEADLINES & FORFEITURE

Read this before you bid. Strict time limits apply.

The Binding Obligation

Winning an auction creates a legally binding obligation. Pickup is not optional, flexible, or informal. Bid Boss operates on strict release schedules to keep inventory moving. If you cannot meet these requirements, do not bid.

1. APPOINTMENT ONLY (No Drop-Ins)

Pickup is strictly by appointment only. Walk-ins are not accepted.

  • The Notification: After your invoice is settled, you receive an email and SMS from Shipping Saint with a scheduling link.
  • The Rule: You must book a specific time slot.

Arriving without an appointment disrupts operations and does not guarantee item release.

2. WHAT TO BRING

To release your items, staff must verify your purchase and identity:

  • Bid Card Number: Located on the top-left of your invoice.
  • Proof of Purchase: Digital or printed settlement invoice.
  • Valid ID: Government-issued photo ID (mandatory).

3. ID VERIFICATION & SECURITY (Risk Control)

For new customers or high-value invoices, enhanced identity verification applies.

  • The Requirement: Staff may retain a copy of your ID for fraud prevention.
  • The Consequence: Refusal results in immediate cancellation and permanent ban.

No Exceptions. This is a non-negotiable security policy.

4. SIGNATURES & INSPECTION RIGHTS

You must sign the invoice before items are released.

  • You ARE signing: Confirmation of lot count and physical receipt.
  • You are NOT signing: A waiver of 24-hour protection on Grade A/B items.

This keeps pickups efficient: sign, load, inspect at home under the 24-hour window.

5. STRICT PICKUP WINDOW (No Exceptions)

Items are never stored beyond the designated pickup week following auction close. Missed deadlines are not excused for:

  • Travel or being out of country
  • Work conflicts
  • Weather
  • Illness or emergencies
  • “I forgot”

You bid. You agreed. You entered a contract.

6. THIRD-PARTY PICKUPS

Can someone else pick up for you?

  • Established Bidders: Yes — email support@bidbossinc.ca for authorization before the window ends.
  • New Bidders: No — you must complete at least 3 successful auctions first.

7. ABANDONMENT & FORFEITURE

An item is considered abandoned if you fail to pay, fail to book, or fail to show up.

  • No Refunds: Items are forfeited immediately.
  • No Retrieval: Inventory is removed and re-processed.
  • Permanent Ban: Access to Bid Boss is revoked.

8. IMPACT ON YOUR HIBID SCORE

All forfeitures are reported to HiBid.

  • Global Impact: Other auctioneers can see forfeiture flags.
  • Result: Automatic rejection from other auctions platform-wide.

Final Advice

Pickup rules are operational requirements — not suggestions. Prepared bidders plan ahead. Unprepared bidders lose items, money, and access to the platform.
